A music born from Brazilian popular culture.
Raised in Cruz do Espírito Santo, in the countryside of Paraíba, Salomão Soares grew up immersed in the popular music of Brazil's Northeast — an ear later broadened by composition, improvisation, and contemporary jazz.

A discography spanning solo works, trios, duos and collaborations — among them Interior, a solo piano album toured across Europe and acclaimed by the Japanese press, Espirais, in trio format, and the duo albums with Vanessa Moreno, which have taken his music from Japan to South Africa.
He is also a member of the Hamilton de Holanda Trio, with whom he won the 2025 Latin Grammy for Best Latin Jazz Album, alongside saxophonist Chris Potter.
